The path
Premise: considering that the noble families of Milan used to spend summers along the Naviglio, in the first part of this itinerary you will meet several important residences that deserve to be visited.
Starting from Boffalora, after 7 km, you will reach the first stop: Robecco sul Naviglio. You will notice its characteristic alleys, the famous Ponte degli Scalini and its ancient Villas, including Villa Gaia and Villa Gromo di Ternengo. A few kilometers away, the village of Cassinetta di Lugagnano, the magic of this village has made it one of the most beautiful villages in Italy and consists of two urban centres, Cassinetta and Lugagnano, located on the opposite banks of the Naviglio Grande and connected by a single bridge. You will pass from Castelletto di Abbiategrasso, (here the Naviglio di Bereguardo is born) and along the Alzaia del Naviglio Grande, crossing the Milanese hinterland towards Gaggiano you will arrive in Darsena, the center of Milanese fun but also a point rich in history, artificial water basin that was the most important junction for the commercial river traffic of the Lombard city.
